# License scope and third-party attribution

Bread original software and documentation are MIT-licensed under the root
`LICENSE`, with the explicit exceptions below. Copyright holder spelling follows
the existing Git author attribution (sagara yuto, GitHub yuto90). This statement
covers the maintainer's original contributions only, not third-party rights.

| Repository files/material | License |
| --- | --- |
| Original source, tests, scripts, configuration, documentation, examples and `playground/icon.svg`, except the rows below | MIT |
| `parts/arduino-uno-r3/geometry.ts` | CC-BY-SA-4.0: Arduino-derived geometry, adapted by Bread |
| All `output/*.svg` and `output/*.png` | CC-BY-SA-4.0 illustrations |
| `docs/images/playground-*.png`, `docs/images/discrete-*.png`, `docs/images/docs-*.png` | Screenshots containing CC-BY-SA-4.0 illustrations; the separate original UI source remains MIT |
| Illustrations generated by the current renderers | CC-BY-SA-4.0; attribution/source/license/modifications embedded in every SVG |
| Installed dependencies, browser binaries, GitHub Actions | Their own upstream licenses; see `docs/dependency-licenses.json` for locked npm metadata |

Generated `dist/playground/parts/arduino-uno-r3/geometry.js` retains the geometry
license; other original generated modules retain MIT. The build copies this
scope document, MIT text and CC-BY-SA-4.0 text into its output. This is a combined
software/artwork distribution, not a blanket MIT package. The npm metadata uses
`SEE LICENSE IN LICENSES/README.md`; the package remains private and unpublished.

## Arduino material

Creator: **Arduino**. Work: **UNO R3 A000066 / UNO-TH Rev3e**.
Source: https://github.com/arduino/docs-content/blob/bdd379bc55bd1ec9449c87235640cedde017f751/content/hardware/uno/boards/uno-rev3/downloads/A000066-cad-files.zip

The source archive's `License.txt` specifies Creative Commons
Attribution-ShareAlike **4.0 International**:
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/
Full license text is included in `CC-BY-SA-4.0.txt` (SPDX license-list text).
Archive SHA-256: `532b306cb153846eafc0ca9fe991d7a4dfa0c52dcefafa2efeaebf4b845ec820`.
The official pinout corroborates this license:
https://docs.arduino.cc/resources/pinouts/A000066-full-pinout.pdf

Changes by Bread: selected socket coordinates, simplified board outline with
corner arcs omitted, coordinate scaling, USB-left orientation, original component
illustrations, wiring overlays and labels. No logo was copied; no Arduino
endorsement is implied. No upstream EAGLE library collection is redistributed.

## Generated diagrams and independent user material

Commercial use is allowed. When sharing a diagram, retain creator/source credit,
a license link and modification notices. If adapting the illustration, distribute
that adaptation under CC-BY-SA-4.0 (or another license permitted by its terms).
Retain the attribution when converting SVG to PNG or embedding a diagram in a
publication; accompany formats that lose metadata with a visible caption or
nearby attribution. Existing screenshot attribution is supplied by this document
and `docs/hardware-sources.md`.

These terms apply to the derived illustration. They do not by themselves place
independently supplied `.bread` circuit descriptions, firmware, or an entire
article/application under CC-BY-SA. Users must have rights to material they supply.
MIT licensing of the renderer does not relicense Arduino-derived artwork as MIT.

## Other hardware references

Omron, Bourns and Adafruit documentation supplied pin/size facts described in
`docs/mixed-parts-preview.md`. No manufacturer illustration or KiCad footprint
file is vendored. KiCad was a corroborating reference; its library license is
CC-BY-SA-4.0 with a design-output exception, not a blanket permission to relicense
a redistributed library collection: https://www.kicad.org/libraries/license/
Future copied source/assets must be reviewed and attributed separately.

Vishay and KEMET datasheets supplied the numerical pin/package facts for the
original diode and capacitor definitions and illustrations. Their exact models,
source documents and footprint assumptions appear in
`docs/component-expansion.md`. No vendor artwork or datasheet is redistributed;
the generated illustrations retain the Arduino-derived CC-BY-SA-4.0 scope above.
